Nor’East Mini/ Mini-Flora Sale

Nor’East Mini/ Mini-flora Sale
Since we are buying roses in full case lots, with a minimum of 8 plants per variety, we are limited in the number of varieties we can order. In the past we were able to buy a number of new introductions with our wholesale order. This year they were not available to us. We do have some quality recently introduced mini and mini-flora roses confirmed in our order. Since our order is confirmed, you should get the roses ordered from our list, unless we sell out on that variety.
Orders will be filled out on a first come, first served basis. I will try to date and time the orders as they are received. All plants were ordered in 8 plant lots, except the miniatures Hot Tamale and Magic Show, which were ordered in lots of 16. The price, if paid by March 25, is $5 per plant. They are ordered in- leaf or forcing grade. After March 25 the plants will be priced at $5.50 each, the same as last year. We expect the plants to be shipped on Monday, May 2 by overnight FedEx. The orders should be sorted out and available for pickup by Wednesday or Thursday May 4 or 5. After filling out and sending the form below, please mail your check to: Bill Blok 4770 Sheri Lynn Dr Wyoming MI 49519

Presidents Letter Feb 2011

An ill wind doth blow today, BUT it’s melting lots of snow away!! Okay, that’s the extent of my poetic side. It is indeed a blustery Valentine’s Day as I write to you, however it is in the relatively warm 40’s and I’ll take that as a sign of spring in our near future. The Chihuahua boys have had their first long walk since the icy blast of winter began – we bought them yellow boots for their teeny feet – they looked so embarrassed!
Bill Blok will be enclosing an order list of minis and minifloras with this newsletter so we will shorten our letter this month to save additional mailing cost. The rose sale is our annual fundraiser, so please order dozens of these lovelies for your garden and maybe for your friends’ gardens also.
Mark you calendars for Tuesday, March 15, 7:00 pm at the Meijer Gardens for a presentation of Harlan’s “My Favorite Pics.” He has worked feverishly on this program (having lost 8 hours due to a backup glitch) and I know it’s going to be a grand show.
Thanks to our newest member, Karen Fitz La Barge, we now have a website up and running. Grand Valley Rose Society of Michigan will take you to our site, although we haven’t much there yet. If you have something to contribute please let Karen know – she can use whatever you send her digitally – Take pictures, give us your super secret gardening hints, write news about your roses, or ask questions of the best and brightest consulting rosarians. Possibilities are endless and so is the space, so get going. Just contact her by posting a comment to this website!
